The most important part of any patient identification system is a reliable and highly accurate patient wristband. SATO’s patient identification wristbands, which incorporate linear and 2-dimensional barcodes for accurate data collection, are high quality, easy to read, soft and comfortable (to ensure patient satisfaction), and come in a range of colours and sizes for both adults and children. SATO also offers the option of patient wristbands which are anti-bacterial and latex free, to inhibit the risk of cross contamination and infection.
Two types of patient identification wristbands are available from SATO. The DuraMark™ Adhesive fastening wristband includes a secure, tamper evident design and can be quickly attached to the wrist. Manufactured from soft, smooth and non-abrasive material and available in Direct Thermal and Thermal Transfer types, the Adhesive fastening wristband offers a high quality, cost-effective solution. Also available is the DuraMark™ Secure clip fastening wristband, which incorporates twin-point, non-transferable clips and is made from very soft materials, ideal for use with elderly and sensitive-skinned patients.
SATO offers a range of easy to use Healthcare printers for the application of clear text & barcodes to patient identification wristbands. For healthcare environments where space is a constraint SATO’s CT4i Series desktop printer is the perfect solution. With a 32 bit RISC CPU, 6ips print speed, up to 600dpi resolution printing capability, high speed interfaces, including wireless connectivity, the CT4i series is a powerful performer in a compact design. Also available is the ultra compact 2" CG Series printer, which offers superior performance at an affordable price. The CG2 is available at 203 or 305 dpi and includes an easy to use USB interface.
SATO’s range of healthcare printers is also highly versatile, and capable of performing other crucial healthcare labelling functions. In addition to printing patient identification wristbands SATO healthcare printers can be reconfigured to print high quality barcodes and labels for use on blood bags, blood samples and in other labelling applications. It is also possible to create new applications for patient identification wristbands using SATO LabelGallery software, which allows users to incorporate photos and graphics into the wristband design.
