SATO International Europe to display latest solutions for the healthcare sector at Medica 2011

MEDICA 2011, 16th-19th November 2011, Dϋsseldorf, Germany, Hall 15, Stand D16.
SATO International Europe, a leader in Automatic Identification and Data Collection (AIDC), barcoding, labelling and EPC/RFID, will be showcasing its range of solutions for the healthcare sector alongside its business partners, May + Spies, Patrise, and Elmicron, at MEDICA 2011 in Dϋsseldorf, Germany.

SATO has developed a comprehensive system of solutions to help decrease patient identification errors in hospitals and patient healthcare facilities, which also promote best practice for the positive identification of patients, medications, specimens and samples, treatments, lab results and records, in addition to solutions for patient wristbands and blood-bag labelling.

Positive identification protects patient safety and helps avoid medical errors, while increasing a hospital’s productivity and reducing their costs. For many years SATO has worked closely with hospitals from around the world to develop straightforward, yet fail-safe systems of patient identification, to ensure hospitals remain as safe and error-free as possible.

SATO printers can print industry-compliant barcodes and formats. They are designed for use in environments that require high standards of hygiene and cleanliness. The SATO labels, ribbons and wristbands are tested to withstand environment challenges: contacts with body fluids, blood, xylene, water and virtually every kind of chemical, as well as extreme cold and heat.

SATO offers a range of easy to use healthcare printers for the application of clear text & barcodes to patient identification wristbands. SATO’s range of healthcare printers is also highly versatile, and capable of performing other crucial healthcare labelling functions. In addition to printing patient identification wristbands SATO healthcare printers can be reconfigured to print high quality barcodes and labels for use on blood bags, blood samples and in other labelling applications. SATO also offers healthcare printers with anti-microbial outer casings, suitable for use in healthcare environments where cleanliness and hygiene are factors not to be compromised on.

For healthcare environments where space is a constraint SATO’s CT4i Series desktop printer is the perfect solution. With a 32 bit RISC CPU, 6ips print speed, up to 600dpi resolution printing capability, high speed interfaces, including wireless connectivity, the CT4i series is a powerful performer in a compact design. Also available is SATO’s MB200i, which provides exceptional mobile printing ideally suited for specimen labelling.

The ultra-compact 2" CG Series printer offers superior performance at an affordable price and is available at 203 or 305 dpi. It includes an easy to use USB interface and is an ideal solution for blood-bag labelling. The CG208 DT Direct Thermal printer is best in its class. It is delivered with competitive emulations onboard, optimal interfaces (built in USB standard) and an anti-microbial casing for outstanding performance in clinical and processing environments.

The latest in printing technology from SATO is the TH2, which can be used for general printing and labelling within the healthcare sector. The TH2 is extremely simple to use, lightweight yet robust and able to operate within a temperature range between 0 and 40˚C. It also has an anti-microbial coating.

Using SATO’s LabelGallery software, it is possible to create new applications for patient identification wristbands, which allows users to incorporate photos and graphics into the wristband design. Another benefit of SATO’s patient wristband solutions is that they are easily compatible with third party barcode scanners, which offers a range of added functions.

Many other innovative solutions will be exhibited at the stand SATO is sharing with its partners. To find out more and to speak to one of the team of experts, visit SATO at Hall 15, Stand D16.
