Seafield solve Wilkinsons storage dilemma

Seafied Logistics has come to the rescue of Wilkinson, the high street retailer. Wilkinsons approached Seafield when their storage needs increased dramatically due to the rapid expansion of the company. Wilkinsons had already taken space at one of Seafield's sites in Worksop but needed further capacity at short notice. With the warehouse in which Wilkinsons products were stored already full another solution was needed.

Wilkinsons, which has one of their two main distribution centres at Worksop, needed storage nearby for hardware and food products. With a space requirement of 200,000 sq ft for the additional products Seafield did not readily have spare capacity.

In response to the enquiry Seafield Managing Director Mark Strong put together a deal which has resulted not only in Wilkinsons needs being met but one which has meant considerable savings for another customer. Strong negotiated with the existing customer to free up space in another of Seafield's operating centres in Worksop. The customer was let off a contract early with resulting in savings for them whilst an alternative and more cost effective solution for their storage needs was also met.

Wilkinsons have now signed an 18 month contract for storage at the second of Seafield's sites in Worksop with their storage arrangement for 75,000 sq ft at the original site being an on-going deal. Seafield is providing container de-stuffing, pallet pick and pack services for Wilkinsons.

Perhaps most significant is the speed at which the solution for Wilkinsons was found. Mark Strong explains, “The new storage site was set up for Wilkinsons within a very short timescale and four weeks' earlier than specified”. Mark added, “At Seafield we pride ourselves on finding solutions for our customers however creative they need to be!”.
