Two of the biggest names associated with transport are sponsoring the Freight Transport Association’s (FTA) renowned Transport Manager series, which kicks off this Autumn. With the support of leading tyre manufacturer Goodyear and one of the world’s leading energy providers Shell, this year’s series will arm transport managers with the tools they need to meet the challenges of an increasingly pressured environment in which their role is often changing.
The theme of this year’s renowned Transport Manager series is ‘be prepared’. The challenge of high fuel prices, extreme winter weather and some big changes to Operator Licensing and CPC training means it has never been more important for transport managers to take control and be prepared.
Adam Stanton, Product Marketing Manager for Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK Ltd, said:
"Goodyear is keen to support such a well-regarded and high-quality series of industry seminars. There is a lot of common ground regarding issues affecting our customers and those of FTA’s members, from saving costs to improving environmental performance. We look forward to sponsoring Transport Manager 2011 and in doing so providing the industry with the information it needs to stay ahead of the curve."
Perrin Baker, Senior UK Marketing Manager for Shell UK Oil Products Ltd, said:
"FTA’s Transport Manager has a well-earned reputation for delivering leading-edge advice straight to the sector. It is essential that transport managers keep themselves at the cutting edge in terms of knowledge to ensure their vehicle fleets operate to maximum efficiency and effectiveness to the benefit of the business and the customers they serve. That is why Shell is delighted to sponsor the FTA’s Transport Manager ensuring freight transport decision-makers have the most up to date facts and figures at their fingertips to keep them ahead of the game."
FTA’s autumn series of Transport Manager seminars takes place across the UK from September to November. Expert speakers from organisations such as VOSA, the Highways Agency and Backhouse Jones Solicitors, as well as the FTA Member Advice Centre and other key FTA staff, will advise delegates on the very latest legislation, and how to keep their operation at the forefront of best practice and compliance procedures.
James Hookham, FTA’s MD of Policy and Communications, said:
"Transport Manager 2011 will put operators on top of their game as we approach another challenging year. This is a fast-moving business environment so any information which lends transport managers a competitive edge via, for example, the latest vehicle developments or legislative changes, is invaluable. With the support of Goodyear and Shell we are looking forward to delivering the best series yet."
