Software solutions are the key focus at Maintec 2012

easyFairs MAINTEC will be showcasing the very latest technologies in the industry as leading software specialists sign up to exhibit.

SCHAD, the award-winning mobile SCADA software company, makes its UK debut at MAINTEC 2012, which takes place at Birmingham’s NEC next February (28 February – 1March 2012). The company will be exhibiting EXTEND7000, the world’s first fully functional mobile SCADA application.

EXTEND7000 is an award-winning mobile SCADA system that allows engineers supporting automated systems within distribution centres, airports, manufacturing plants, utilities companies and any other automated environments controlled by PLCs (programmable logic computers) to monitor, control and maintain multiple systems remotely, using any mobile device from any location.

"We are at the tip of the iceberg as the use of mobile applications within business starts to really take hold, thanks to the rapid adoption of smartphones and tablets that already run many aspects of our lives," says Christian Schad, Founder and CEO of SCHAD GmbH. "It is a natural extension to apply a new layer of enterprise mobility to help companies using automation systems gain better control and reduce the costs of system downtime – and as more companies introduce automation, in the distribution centre, production facility or for transportation services, the issue of downtime reduction will be increasingly important."

James Hannay, SVP of Sales and Marketing at SCHAD, adds: "The launch of EXTEND7000 offers organisations a huge opportunity to introduce mobility to a completely new area of the workforce – namely the highly skilled maintenance engineers responsible for managing automated systems monitored by SCADA and controlled by PLC technology. Many companies already have a wireless infrastructure so it’s a logical transition to put this to greater use with mobile applications to reduce downtime."

Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, will be demonstrating its expanded asset management capabilities for Infor10 EAM at MAINTEC 2012.

"Infor10 EAM plays a critical role in helping companies remain viable and strong during recent economic hardships by reducing and controlling the costs associated with equipment and facilities," says Jean Benoit Nonque, EMEA VP, Enterprise Asset Management at Infor. "The solution makes users more productive and effective in the management of their assets."

SRO Solutions will also be exhibiting at the show. Steve Driver; Director at SRO, comments: "The last 12 months have seen rapid growth for us. Not only have we taken on new staff in all parts of the company, but we have had to move to larger premises to cope with the increased demand for our asset management solutions based around IBM Maximo."

SRO’s consultants have visited many parts of the globe in the last year from Canada to Malaysia and Aberdeen to Los Angeles. Their skills have been invaluable to organisations wishing to get the most out of their Maximo asset management solution, and Steve believes this trend is only going to continue.

Steve explains: "An organisation can make significant savings by maximising the return on their existing assets. An integrated and sophisticated asset management solution like Maximo automates the processes surrounding routine and one-off maintenance tasks, helping to ensure maximum uptime and profitability. This is important at any time, but particularly with the current world economy. We can already see from the increased number of enquiries we are receiving that organisations are waking up to this fact and we believe that MAINTEC 2012 will be really busy for us."

Siveco UK Ltd is the British subsidiary of European Siveco Group, the leading European developer and producer of computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) and top of the range asset management software. The company, whose software is used across many applications to record and maintain asset history efficiently and effectively, and which will also be exhibiting at MAINTEC 2012, is extremely proud of its ‘mid-market’ system. No application or interface is too big or small; whether show visitors are looking for a desktop-friendly interface, or a complete corporate system, Siveco UK will be able to use a tailored solution to suit.

As well as a strong line-up of exhibitors, accompanying the exhibition will be a comprehensive seminar programme covering a variety of topics relating to working in the maintenance industry.
