SolidWorks will be attending the easyFairs Packaging Innovations South show at Sandown Park, Esher, where the company has agreed to host a talk on the use of 3D CAD in the packaging and product design industry, and exhibit its pioneering SolidWorks software. Held on 18 and 19 October 2006, easyFairs Packaging Innovations South focuses on what is new, creative and innovative in packaging.
Chris McManus, SolidWorks country manager UK & Ireland, says: “This is one of the main packaging events of the year. SolidWorks is delighted to be involved. We work very closely with the consumer product and packaging industry, helping companies to deliver creative, cutting edge designs, faster. Packaging Innovations South will provide SolidWorks with a great opportunity to share our knowledge and experience of 3D CAD and to meet our present and prospective customers in the world of packaging design and innovation.”
Jeremy Hines, SolidWorks European technical manager, will be speaking on the topic of 'How 3D CAD can help you design better products.' An outline of his presentation at Packaging Innovations South, is as follows: Learn how to speed up, streamline and reduce your design time and create technically advanced, aesthetically superior products. 3D CAD tools allow you to easily create complex models, capture design intent from physical models and sketches, create photorealistic renderings, collaborate more effectively with your team and clients and better control your design-to-manufacture process.
SolidWorks software is used worldwide for designing and manufacturing a wide variety of consumer products and innovative packaging, for home, business and recreational products. SolidWorks provides product designers with powerful data translation, surface and solid modelling, design verification, collaboration, and photorealistic rendering tools. Specialist design agency Pi3 uses SolidWorks to create eye-catching, functional packaging solutions for a wide range of consumer and industrial brands. “One of the problems with packaging design is that consumers expect it to perform like a product but cost like a package. That takes some effort and is where the consultancy adds value. And SolidWorks plays a vital role in helping us to add that value,” says Eric Connolly, Pi3.
