UK Kewill plc (LSE:KWL), a leading provider of solutions that simplify global trade and logistics, has successfully replaced Heineken UK's Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) infrastructure with Kewill MessageBroker, Kewill's large enterprise Integration as a Service (IaaS) offering and Kewill Xchange, Kewill's B2B managed file transfer service.
The Kewill solution now allows Heineken UK to seamlessly exchange around 11,000 business documents such as orders, invoices and advance shipping notes each week electronically with over 70 suppliers, whilst integrating relevant data automatically into Heineken UK's existing ERP and Finance systems.
The multi-year contract, signed in September 2009, will also see Kewill fully manage and support Heineken UK's EDI requirements with its trading partner community, allowing the company to focus on its core competencies.
Douglas Smith at Heineken UK commented, "We are confident that we now have in place a flexible, cost effective and scalable EDI platform which better meets the needs of our own users and those of our trading network. Integration with our enterprise and accounting systems has demonstrated an immediate improvement in efficiency and we expect to see a fast return on our investment in this area over the coming months."
Jacquie Boast, Kewill's European Chief Operating Officer added, "Kewill's expertise in deploying e-commerce technology, including EDI, to streamline trading partner communications, and our experience of delivering fully managed business integration, makes us the ideal partner to work with Heineken UK in delivering its supply chain strategy. We are very pleased to have implemented phase one of this important project to schedule and, most importantly, to Heineken UK's satisfaction."
