South Yorkshire Euro stars commended by Palletways

A South Yorkshire logistics firm has been commended in recognition of its European sales performance.

Hastings Freight, based at High Hazels Road in Barlborough, part of Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network, has been officially recognised for its year-on-year European sales increases in Palletways’ Northern territory.

Alan Hastings, managing director at Hastings Freight, said: “This award is particularly well-timed, as Palletways prepares to add a number of new countries to its already extensive network. This is arguably one of the most exciting years in the Group’s history and we’re proud to have played a part in its European success story to date.”

Luis Zubialde, managing director for Palletways (UK) Ltd, said: “I would like to thank Hastings Freight for their outstanding sales achievements which are vital to the commercial success of our business. The award also reflects their overriding commitment to customer service excellence and the value our network provides beyond simply taking goods from A to B.”

Palletways’ journey into Europe started in 2002 with its first venture in Italy and the Group has continued to expand ever since. Deliveries across Europe for the Palletways network increased by 35 per cent last year and are forecasted to rise by 50 per cent in the 12 months ahead.

The network now boasts 12 hubs across 14 European countries including Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Slovakia, Spain and the United Kingdom. The Group is looking to extend its services into Switzerland and six Eastern European countries, as well as completing a new increased capacity hub in Germany.

Palletways consists of 300 depots across Europe of which over 100 are in the UK. The company’s distribution networks are made up of independent transport companies who share each other’s resources to deliver consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively than ever before.
