Full-service wine retailer aims to automate, with streamlined barcode process and serialised inventory
STOKENCHURCH - RedPrairie Corporation, a productivity solutions provider, announced today that full-service wine retailer, Soutirage has selected RedPrairie's On-Demand WMS to replace its existing system and further automate its Napa, Calif. distribution facility. With a clientele that includes a multitude of both personal and leading corporate accounts, Soutirage plans to use the solution to streamline the company's barcode process, and serialise its inventory.
"Our customer base has grown significantly in recent years, and we needed a more flexible, scalable solution to help manage our inventories," said Soutirage Founder, Chad Meyer. "RedPrairie's comprehensive reporting will help us know exactly where each bottle is located, a challenge because our daily inventory contains thousands of SKUs comprising some of the world's rarest and most valuable bottles of wine."
Meyer continued, "The bane of any retailing business is tied to shipping error, and the inability to locate items efficiently. Our customers expect perfection, both in the quality of the product and delivery of flawless service. RedPrairie gives us peace of mind by putting the right checks and balances in place, allowing us to pick, pack and ship perfectly every time."
Specifically, the On-Demand WMS will allow Soutirage to further automate a number of its operations, including purchasing, receiving, ordering, picking, and shipping, with a number of tools to enhance overall inventory control. The company expects the solution to create a number of efficiencies across the board.
"Tackling the supply chain challenges associated with a global, multi-channel retailing business requires a new standard for ingenuity," said RedPrairie CEO Mike Mayoras. "Companies like Soutirage make the impossible possible on a daily basis. We consider it a great privilege to work with those organisations every day."
