Specialist Waste Recycling Ltd, SWR, partners British Hospitality Association, BHA

Specialist Waste Recycling Ltd (SWR) has become a preferred supplier to the leading representative organisation in the hospitality industry, the British Hospitality Association (BHA).

As the only waste management company backed by the BHA, the alliance will help SWR forge new relationships with the organisations’ members, including hotels, restaurants and food service providers. The company has extensive experience in delivering measurable commercial and environmental benefits to the industry.

The partnership further represents the company’s commitment to the hospitality industry, SWR is already recommended by the Considerate Hotelier Association (CHA) and was the only waste management firm to exhibit at Hotelympia this year.

SWR has developed a waste management model that is unique in the hospitality industry and combines intelligent, innovative waste solutions with the best possible customer service. This model is particularly well suited to the sector, where there are often multiple sites and a variety of waste streams to be managed.

Giles Whiteley, SWR CEO, said: "Our experience in this sector is growing rapidly and we are now working with some of the UK’s most respected hotels, restaurants and pub chains. Teaming up with the BHA was a very logical step. Government pressure on the hospitality industry to improve its green credentials this year will put waste and recycling even higher up the agenda, and SWR is in a very good position to help hospitality companies achieve the targets that will be set.

"Our staff are very well versed in the demands and requirements of the sector which has some very specific challenges where waste is concerned; not least glass and food waste.

Part of our offering, and bundled into the waste contract, is our new Smash & Grab glass crushing machine. This innovative device turns large numbers of bottles into small pieces in seconds and reduces the volume of waste by 80 percent."
