Specialist steel firm, Adey SteelShop have completed their nine month project to supply all steelwork to leading BioEnergy and materials handling firm Saxlund International.
The work undertaken in Southampton was a significant contract for family owned, Adey Steel as they provided biomass combustion and fuel handling solutions to Twinwoods Heat & Power.
Adey SteelShop did not only manufacture, but also designed the elements of the structures in house. Their work included a complex ten tonne Combustion Furnace and full assembly of the components to allow a smooth installation on site. Adey Steelshop have also manufactured all the structures and access equipment to go with this.
Richard Greasley, Adey Project Manager said ‘The delivery of the project proved to be great with logistical planning and the site managers were thoroughly briefed to ensure the products would be on site as quickly as possible to their exact requirements’.
Adey Group was founded in 1925 in Loughborough by Harry Adey, the Adey family still own the company and have continued to grow the firm over the past 90 years. The business is now lead by fourth generation MD Andrew Adey with his father Garry still active in the Chairman’s role.
