STF International, the groupage and complete loads specialist is operating 18 Profi Liner curtainsiders from Krone Trailers UK which, says the company, come with an essential 'passport' for their Swiss/European operation.
Code EN 12642 is the European standard for trailer body structure and load securing and according to SFT, a pre requisite when negotiating transport contracts across Europe.
"Although we are probably the largest Swiss owner/operator running its own fleet between Switzerland and the UK" says STF UK manager Paul Tucker, "we nonetheless must comply with the safety standards specified in this codification. Without this, transporters will not only find it difficult to obtain business, but also they will be non-compliant and operating without due regard to safety"
STF depots are located in Maldon Essex, Colnbrook, Manchester in the UK and Basel and Zurich in Switzerland. The company operates 17 (?) tractor units, 18 Profi Liners and two tankers. The Profi Liners are Euro Liner style with sliding roofs for top loading.
" We have 20 years experience in the continental market" adds Paul Tucker "and over this time we have built a reputation for reliability and safety upon which our customers rely. Code XL is a further raising of the European trailer safety standard and we are secure in the knowledge that Krone's Profi Liners conform to it."
