Drinks giant, Diageo, has awarded the materials handling contract for its £10m cooperage project at Cambus in Clackmannanshire to Leicester based CI Logistics. Work has already begun on the facility which will become the firm's coopering base, employing around 70 people.
Gary Bale, managing director of CI Logistics comments, "We are developing a state of the art, turnkey solution for Diageo which will integrate robotics with an automated handling system.
"Winning this prestigious contract underlines the skills and expertise we have in our business and is a real breakthrough after the challenges of the last 18 months."
