Supply chain solutions provider ByBox acquire PPR Solutions

ByBox Field Support, the UK market leader in field service supply chain solutions, has acquired PPR Solutions. PPR specialises in high-end outsourced engineering, making it a perfect fit for ByBox' customers.

PPR was started over four years ago with a simple mission: provide skilled engineers to technology-based customers at a variable cost. PPR's rapid growth since inception is testament to the gap spotted by the PPR founders - John Cushing, Emanuel Angelic and Tush Patel.

John Cushing, PPR Sales Director, makes the point: "the market was already commoditised for low-end tech-courier type services. But customers were just as anxious to out-source certain types of higher-end services as well. The problem was simple: nobody was offering high-end technical services at a variable rate. That's the gap that PPR has focused on filling".

PPR now has an impressive list of clients spanning many sectors from retail, financial services, utilities, telco and IT.

The rationale for the acquisition was clear from both sides. ByBox provides PPR with the scale and technology required to make another step-change in growth; PPR provides ByBox with the ability to provide ByBox' customers with high-end outsourced engineering as part of Thinventory™ - ByBox' end-to-end field service software platform.

Earlier this year ByBox acquired Newcotech - a well-established tech-courier serving the IT, retail and telco sectors. PPR dramatically extends the profile of engineering services that ByBox is able to offer.

Stuart Miller, CEO ByBox: "ByBox has been working hard to use technology to permanently reduce the cost of our customers' supply chains. To date, our focus has been mainly on inventory, distribution and tech-courier. The last piece in the field service puzzle is high-end engineering. Integrating PPR into our overall Thinventory™ proposition gives customers a great range of service choice. Customers can configure Thinventory™ to deliver whichever combination of inventory, distribution and field engineering they need - all at a variable cost."
