Wincanton, the UK's leading provider of innovative supply chain solutions, won the coveted Supply Chain Project of the Year award at Retail Week's Supply Chain awards last Thursday evening.
Held at the London Hilton on Park Lane, the annual Retail Week Supply Chain awards are among the sector's most prestigious, celebrating the best examples of work within the UK's retail supply chains.
Wincanton won Supply Chain Project of the Year in recognition of its work with Kiddicare, delivering a solution that realised its goal of moving from an online brand into a true multi-channel retailer with a major store presence around the UK in just 16 weeks.
Speaking after last night's ceremony Eric Born, Wincanton's CEO, said: "We help retailers at every point in the supply chain, from inbound containers to e-fulfilment and home delivery, and we are truly delighted to have won Supply Chain Project of the Year.
"The rise of digital technology is causing the biggest change in consumer habits for many generations, putting retailers and their supply chains under tremendous pressure to deliver.
"Against that backdrop I am extremely proud of the way our teams have responded to these challenges, devising intelligent solutions on behalf of our retail customers that not only meet modern consumer demands, but that also create efficiencies adding real value to supply chains. And we will continue to review and refine our services to ensure we stay at the forefront of this exciting and fast-moving sector."
Eric Born added: "We have superbly talented and committed people working for us and this award is testimony to their hard work, dedication and expertise, all of which helps to keep Wincanton the leader in this field."
