Europe’s leading lifestyle and action sports pureplay online retailer, Surfdome.com has appointed Norbert Dentressangle to manage its fast-growing fulfilment operation.
The new contract recognises Norbert Dentressangle’s proven e-fulfilment experience and capabilities, along with its ability to support Surfdome.com’s ambitious growth plans.
Wembley-based Surfdome.com stocks over 900 well-known lifestyle, fashion, outdoor and sports brands. Launching in 2006, the company has never grown less than 75% in a year and achieved a 92% increase in revenue from 2010 to 2011, earning it a place in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100.
Surfdome.com is set to continue to grow significantly over the next few years, expanding its range of clothing, footwear, accessory and equipment products as well as moving into European and international markets.
Norbert Dentressangle took responsibility for the management of Surfdome’s own warehouse in Wembley in late 2012 and has since transferred the operation to a new, 112,000 sq ft facility in Wellingborough with enhanced facilities, capabilities and capacity to support Surfdome.com’s continued growth.
Norbert Dentressangle is responsible for the receipt of goods from Surfdome.com’s suppliers, order picking, marshalling, packing, despatch and returns management. The operation currently involves the handling of up to 6,000 orders and 10,000 items per day with more than 100,000 SKUs. A significant uplift is expected on this in the run up to peak Christmas trading.
The 16/7/362 operation employs around 100 colleagues, including a number transferred from Surfdome under the new contract.
Norbert Dentressangle will continue to work with Surfdome.com to identify and implement new initiatives and services to ensure that the company continues to offer excellent service to its customers, both in the UK and overseas, while remaining agile to absorb changes in the market place.
