Giles will be working with SWR on continuing Mergers and Acquisition projects, whilst starting a new venture, Orbisa. Orbisa will specialise in developing the way in which UK businesses benefit from improving sustainable performance, working with both the green sector and large UK businesses.
Over the past six years under Giles’ leadership firstly as COO then as CEO, SWR has grown from a small firm to its current turnover of almost £16m. The company’s success is largely due to its customer centric approach to its business and partnership approach with the rest of the waste industry. More recently Giles’s focus has been on acquisitions and partnerships that will take the company into its next phase. Giles will continue to support SWR in these activities from his new venture.
Commenting on the move Giles said “Having achieved what we had set out when I joined SWR, building a team to take a small company towards being a serious industry player, I am very proud of everything we have done. With all the foundations in place for continued growth into key markets, I am looking forward to working with SWR in their expansion projects. However, I am now ready to work outside of the company assisting UK businesses in their understanding of the sustainability agenda in a more pragmatic and business focused way than is often achieved.”
Having recently married, Giles will be taking a couple of months extended honeymoon before formally launching Orbisa in the autumn. For more information Giles can be contacted on email@example.com.
Angus MacDonald Chairman of SWR said “SWR has come a long way since Giles joined and he has played a key part in our success. We look forward to working with him in his new venture as we continue to expand into the UK Waste Market.”
