Syspal handles robotic challenge

The appointment of John Howard marks a strategic move by Shropshire based Syspal: no longer content to just manufacture conveyor systems, the company has responded to market demand by bringing in-house the skill base to provide turnkey solutions for all aspects of product handling and automation applications.

John's newly created role of Automation Sales Manager represents yet another significant stride forward for Syspal Ltd., one of Europe's leading suppliers of stainless steel and aluminium products to the food and pharmaceutical industries.

"Syspal boasts one of the best equipped fabrication facilities in Europe and a highly experienced team of mechanical handling specialists: This is now supplemented by John's vast knowledge of robotic handling gained at companies including ABB and Motoman. The result is a one stop shop, not just for manufacturing but for all aspects of product handling and automation applications", explains Derry Young, Syspal Sales Director

Syspal's reputation and experience spanning 25 years, has given it an enviable customer base, including most of the country's leading food and pharmaceutical manufacturers. With a constant drive to increase productivity and flexibility, improve working conditions and control operational costs there has been an inescapable drive towards complex projects demanding one point of contact.

John's role also includes project consultancy and co-ordinating Syspal's resources to handle complete systems - encompassing procurement of specialist equipment and all the associated interfacing, in addition to the core skills of conveyors and robotics.

Syspal's capability varies from small bespoke arrangements through to fully integrated large scale operations encompassing process packaging and palletisation. In addition to its ISO 9001 accreditation, all Syspal's systems and equipment conform to current CE legislation and Health and Safety practices including the preparation of supporting documentation and certification.

All indications are that Syspal's holistic approach is satisfying a need for joined up thinking in a sector which has, until now, proved slow to respond to an increasing demand for turnkey solutions.
