Since its launch in May 2011 the Teletower, winner of this year's Innovation Award at the Executive Hire Show, has proved a giant success with hundreds of customers seeing the benefits of using the world's first mobile telescopic scaffold tower. Following on its heels is the new Fibreglass Teletower which will offer the same benefits to users working near electrical hazards.
One such customer already benefiting from Teletower is window manufacturer Total Glass whose Managing Director Frank Deary commented, "We cannot believe how quickly it is to get a working height of 4 metres from a scaffolding system that fits in a car boot. As fitting windows involves a lot of working at varying heights we are actively promoting Teletower to our independent installers as a sure-fire way to improve installation time. Fitting windows can sometimes be very different yet Teletower seems to adapt to all of our demands."
With seven different platform heights - from 0.33 to 2.00 metres - at 25 cm increments - the Teletower offers working heights from 2.30 to 4.00 metres; it is no surprise customers are finding Teletower so flexible to use. The new version is manufactured with 2 millimetre fibreglass stiles making the tower non-conductive.
Assembly of the Teletower, from van to in-situ, can take less than 3 minutes and is achieved through the 'Advanced Guardrail' method where guardrails are put in place before ascending the platform providing an extra guarantee of safety for users. Stabilisers are fitted as standard and include five optional positions allowing the Teletower to be used, for example, flush against a wall or in tight spaces. Toeboards to prevent tools falling from the platform are available as optional extras and come in a convenient carry bag.
The compact closed dimensions 81 (W) x 105 cm (H) cm x 42 cm (D) offer a convenient storage solution; with the Teletower stowing away neatly in small cupboards or even a car boot. With the tower comprising of only two pieces, the tower unit and the folding platform; it is almost impossible to loose parts or leave any behind when traveling to a job.
