Terex AWP develops Genie® Telehandler distributor network in UK

Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP), a business segment of the Terex Corporation (NYSE: TEX), has restructured its distributors’ network to sell and support Genie® products in the United Kingdom.

The agreement enables Access Platform Sales Ltd (APS) and WORKPLATFORM Ltd to supply Genie® self-propelled aerial work platforms, scissors, portable personal and material lifts as well as trailer mounted booms. In addition TDL Equipment Ltd will distribute the Genie® Telehandler line covering all of the UK. Each organization will support Genie product line sales as a full service provider offering technical support and maintaining a stock of spare parts. With a designated territory in accordance to their facilities, they will help to maximise equipment ‘up-time.’ This new announcement does not affect the existing customer base or infrastructure. The introduction of this new dealer network is to support and complement the existing Genie UK team, due to increased demand for our products and services through all channels within the UK AWP market place. Our existing Sales and Product Support are not affected by this expansion of our representation as we aim to service the market demand in the best possible way.

“This is an exciting and logical step for our business here in the UK,” says Joanna Tomkins, Dealer Manager, Terex AWP. “The demand in the market place is significantly picking up, and this appointment ensures that we can serve our customers, giving each the same level of service.”

“Genie is a strong business. We feel there is enough growth for us to appoint two dedicated distributors for our self-propelled and aluminum product range and we know we have the right partners for the job,” said Joanna. APS Ltd and WORKPLATFORM Ltd, each possess around 25 years of dedicated industry experience. Each has also been an authorized dealer of Genie® aluminum equipment for the last three and a half years with highly successful revenues from reselling our product range. “Envisaging the changing landscape within our industry, we are confident of the success of these new relationships,” added Joanna.

“The growing potential for telehandlers in the UK market and our recent complete upgraded Genie line made us appoint TDL Equipment Ltd as well as our Genie Telehandler distributor. We are confident that having TDL as our partner will enable us to gain brand awareness there,” concludes Joanna.
