A recent series of comparative tests, many of which were based on VDI 2198 standards and all of which were carried out in a realistic, intensive application environment, have shown that Hyster's electric counterbalanced trucks either equal or exceed the performance of their closest competitors. The tests, which were undertaken at Hyster's Irvine, Scotland plant, compared vital categories such as noise levels, cost per load moved, drawbar pull and low energy consumption and the results underline the correctness of the purchasing decision made by Hyster customers.
More ergonomic advantages
Hyster minimises driver fatigue by reducing noise at the operators ear, more than it's closest four competitors. Moreover, Hyster electric truck drivers enjoy remarkably low effort controllability; the very latest control options, an adjustable armrest and a choice of either TouchPoint™ mini-levers or TouchControl™ joystick. The controls move with the seat and telescope forward to allow excellent individual positioning and precise handling control.
Hyster electrics also come with a full suspension seat with a wide range of adjustment options, an easily adjustable 5 position steering column and a compact 30 cm diameter steering wheel with Demand Sense Steering,
More manoeuvrability In fact, lift truck controllability and manoeuvrability has never been easier. With the benefit of Hyster's Monotrol™ one-pedal direction change system, compact
dimensions and the excellent all-round visibility provided by the Hyster clear view masts, Hyster electric trucks can operate in the tightest of aisle widths. The Hyster tests show that the J1.60XMT and J2.00XMT models offer the tightest turning circle of any trucks in their class.
More driver performance, greater productivity The operator can also choose, via the dash display, from pre-set parameters, the right performance level to suit his own driving style, level of experience or to meet the application task.
At a glance indicator lights and an alphanumeric display also give direct feedback on the truck's operating condition, with visual display of status codes. And with the battery discharge indicator and lift interrupt as standard costly interruptions to work flow are avoided.
More energy efficient performance
Both the J1.60-2.00 XMT and J2.00-3.20XM models offer the lowest energy consumption of any trucks in their class*. With powerful and efficient AC motors, the trucks can perform in a wide range of demanding applications. Customers can choose from
the “full AC Performance” option for time critical applications, or select “AC Extended Shift” to benefit from the longest possible battery autonomy where an uninterrupted shift operation is critical.
More dependability and reduced cost of ownership Hyster electrics not only deliver application matched performance but also built in dependability and reduced maintenance costs which results in low cost of ownership.
All the trucks motors are 100% brushless and benefit from virtually maintenance free oil immersed brakes. Service intervals are set at 1000 hours.
With diagnostic data delivered quickly to the dash display via the reliable CANbus system, users get early warning of maintenance needs and swift fault detection to aid correction.
More leg room for taller operators Hyster can even offer a special version of its J series trucks, designated the Ergo +, specifically designed for the taller operator. The Ergo+ three and four wheel truck models feature an advanced ergonomic package designed to offer drivers, including those of above average height, all the
confidence, comfort and controllability they need to perform at their best. Commenting on this latest development to the Hyster electric range, Alan Blyth, Hyster Regional Director for Northern Europe explains “At Hyster, our guiding principle has always been to listen to what our customers want and then design the products to match their specific needs. This is exactly what we've done in this case where feedback from our customers showed that there is an urgent need for trucks which offer exceptional comfort for operators who are taller than average.”
More legroom means more comfort
Both the J1.60-2.00XMT Ergo + and J2.00-3.20XM Ergo+ trucks have been especially designed by Hyster's Special Engineering Department (SPED). The
increased leg room allows individual drivers to choose their optimal driving position and results in less muscle strain. In addition, a larger intermediate step on both trucks allows them easy on-off access to the truck. Strong Partners. Tough Trucks. All Hyster electric trucks are tough trucks delivering outstanding performance in demanding operations, boosted by premium driver ergonomics. Like all Hyster trucks they are backed by Strong Partners: Hyster, the world's only global, full line supplier of materials handling equipment, and Barloworld, providing world class customer care in the UK.
