TGW launches SPLITEX - a new fully automated depalletising unit

Combining depalletising performance with careful handling of a wide variety of products and materials, SPLITEX is a new fully automated de-palletising unit from TGW.

SPLITEX separates each layer and each package/carton from the pallet and delivers it to an automated conveyor system feeding further operations.

Fully loaded pallets are 'split' layer by layer into single packages or cartons. A picking conveyor approaches the gap under the top layer of the pallet. The TGW grip-roller (patent pending) on the front end of the conveyor enters the gap and raises the first row of packages or SKUs and transfers the complete layer, row by row, to the adjacent belt conveyor. The entire layer is then transferred to the subsequent conveyor system before the grip-roller repositions below the next layer. The process continues until the required number of layers has been 'split' from the pallet.

Product Integrity

To prevent product damage and enable the system to handle the widest possible range of packaging materials, each package or carton is fully supported across its bases surface throughout the entire process. Lateral supports are also used to secure the pallet load during depalletising. These securing plates support the top two layers of the pallet from three sides throughout the layer splitting process.

High performance

SPLITEX offers impressive performance in addition to its flexibility in handling the widest range of packaging materials. The system can separate 35 fully loaded pallets per hour and handle packages from 0.5 kg through to 35 kg while operating at a very low noise level.
