The Composting Association is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chairman. Peter Mills, Contracts Director at New Earth Solutions Ltd, was voted in by the Board, at the Association's Annual General Meeting this week, while previous Chairman, Trelawney Dampney, Managing Director of ECO Composting Ltd. stepped down to retire.
Said Jane Gilbert, Chief Executive of the Composting Association: "Trelawney has been an enthusiastic and dedicated Chairman for the past three years. He has helped considerably in seeing the Composting Association through a period of growth and development and we wish to extend our thanks for his invaluable contribution. Peter will, we believe, continue this excellent work and help to lead the Composting Association forward into a new era.
We would also like to thank the two directors who stood down at this year's AGM: Peter Olsen of the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency and Stewart Reynolds of Norfolk Environmental Waste Services. Both have been involved with the Association since its early days and both have helped to ensure that the Association has survived and thrived in its work to promote the UK composting industry."
New Chairman, Peter Mills, added "I would like to go on record as thanking Trelawney for his hard work over the last three years. Under his stewardship the Association has grown into an organisation of which the composting industry can be proud. I hope that my period in office will build on the foundations that my predecessor has laid."
Outgoing Chairman Trelawney Dampney commented "I am stepping down with mixed feelings. I am sorry to be taking a less active role but feel that Peter will have an interesting and exciting time leading the Association through the changing world of composting in the UK. I would like to thank all the members I've met over the last few years, your feedback has been integral to the growth of the organisation".
