The Freight Transport Association (FTA) will be running 12 Transport Manager seminars across the UK from the autumn. The seminars will provide operators with a comprehensive update of enforcement changes, as well as compliance best practice and cost-saving advice. Attendees will also be given the chance to win a three-day, all-expenses paid trip of a lifetime for two to Maranello, Italy to visit the Ferrari factory and museum, courtesy of European truck manufacturer Iveco.
James Hookham, FTA's Policy Director, said:
"This fantastic prize reinforces the value that Iveco sees in partnering FTA in the Transport Manager events, even when trading conditions are exceptionally tough."
Speakers from the enforcement authorities and regulatory bodies will be joined by industry and legal experts to arm attendees with advice to help them deal with the raft of cost and compliance challenges facing them.
Hookham concluded:
"The transport industry is having to adapt to a sea change in the way vehicles are tested and the way legislation is enforced at the roadside, and all in the midst of a crippling recession. With margins being squeezed ever tighter it is not the time for transport managers to take their eyes off the ball.
"Transport Manager is a must for operators wanting to manage costs and ensure they are fully equipped to face planned changes to legislation in the year ahead and stay on top of their compliance and duty of care responsibilities."
