LogiChem Europe 2007, the 6th annual bulk and speciality chemical supply chain conference, will take place on 16th-18thApril 2007 in the Hilton, Dusselforf. Around 200 senior representatives, including heads and directors of Europe's leading chemical manufacturers and distributors, will convene to discuss their current challenges in what is, at present, a transport capacity-constrained market.
Key speakers include European and Global supply chain directors from Solvay, Degussa, Borealis, and the European Supply Chain Director of Ineos Polyolefins who will present their own current and future supply chain plans. They will be joined by a leading authority on logistics and supply chain management, Professor Martin Christopher, who will asses the sources of supply chain complexity and means to release value. The extensive speaker faculty will present practical case studies and discuss issues ranging from restructuring and customer service levels to differentiation and outsourcing. The conference focus day on 16thApril will address the lack of chemical storage and transportation
capacity; whether it is a trend that will remain, what the outlook is for overland transport in the next 5 years and what can be done to ensure that service levels are maintained and distribution costs remain stable.
Through research and discussions with chemical supply chain professionals and the conference advisory board, LogiChem will help shape the industry's new benchmarking framework. This initiative has been launched by the conference advisory board in colloaboration with Accenture and aims to aid chemical companies in standardising cost and performance measurement in the supply chain. The benchmarking framework will be designed by the industry, for the industry and will seek the opinions and views of LogiChem delegates and other leading supply chain professionals prior to the conference.
LogiChem has support from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) and the Chemical Business Associtation (CBA). Together these associations have been designed to advance chemical sciences, develop a prosperous chemical industry in Europe and assist chemical manufacturers and distributors in doing so.
