The new roadside recovery operation for its new truck range

Following its announcement at last year's RHA Rescue and Recovery Group Business Review seminar, leading truck manufacturer Isuzu Truck (UK) Limited has now launched Isuzu Commercial Assistance, its brand new UK roadside recovery operation that supports the company's new heavier truck model range that was recently launched at the Commercial Vehicle Show in April 2008.

In partnership with the Lantern Group, Isuzu Commercial Assistance complements Isuzu's current roadside recovery operation for existing vehicles, focusing totally on the new 'Grafter' and 'Forward' range of trucks. All operators of these new Isuzu truck models automatically receive a comprehensive 3-year unlimited mileage manufacturer warranty and this includes full roadside recovery.

The new 24/7 contact number for Isuzu Commercial Assistance is 0800 008 7210.

Confirming the launch details, Keith Child, Marketing Director at Isuzu Truck UK said, “Isuzu Commercial Assistance is operated directly with the roadside and recovery industry through Lantern's experienced call centre. The Isuzu Commercial Assistance service not only uses Lanterns call centre and recovery vehicles but also is working with the many large and small independent roadside and recovery companies across the UK.”

In Spring 2008, Isuzu Truck (UK) extended its model range going up to 18 tonnes, taking the company from being a niche player in the UK to that of a major commercial vehicle manufacturer.

As Keith Child explained, “With its new model line up, Isuzu Truck has now moved into the world of the haulier and, as a result, we need to provide an industry leading roadside assistance service that competes with the best and complements Isuzu's unique selling points of customer service and 'CARE'. With this new service, we use a mix of independent recovery companies, together with approved Isuzu dealers who have full roadside vehicle facilities. This allows us to allocate the optimum resource to handle the breakdown call depending on the problem and location of the vehicle in question.”

Isuzu Truck (UK) and The Lantern Group have developed a strong business relationship over the past few years. In addition to providing this new roadside assistance and recovery operation from its headquarters in Hertfordshire, The Lantern Group is also currently responsible for all new Isuzu chassis deliveries to Isuzu dealers and customers in the UK.
