Environmental law specialists Dyne Solicitors Limited are inviting skip hire operators to a seminar to help ensure they are fully up to date with new waste licensing rules.
The event, at Dyne Solicitors Limited's office in Tattenhall, Chester, on 11 October, will focus on changes to waste licensing and the impact on the skip hire industry. Topics to be covered include:
The impact of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs' reorganisation of waste licensing to bring this line with Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC) regulations in 2008 Opportunities arising the requirement to pre-treat non-hazardous waste before disposal to landfill, which takes effect from October 2007
Long-term changes to landfill tax and tax exemptions
Proposed changes to waste licensing exemptions and the impact of case law in the context of exemptions
The government's Waste Strategy for England 2007 on sustainable waste management.
John Dyne, of Dyne Solicitors Limited, said: "The seminar will provide a practical update and will arm operators with the information they need to appreciate the regulatory requirements – and make the most of the opportunities – as a result of the changing waste licensing regime."
The seminar costs £23.50 per person, with a 50 per cent discount for each additional person from the same organisation. Light refreshments will be provided at the seminar, which runs from 4.45pm-6.30pm.
The event will be repeated at the same time and venue on 27 November.
