Accsys Technologies, manufacturer of Accoya®, the world’s leading high technology and environmentally-friendly wood, has announced that Primawood, a new timber importer across Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, has been appointed as the exclusive distributor for Accoya® in these markets.
With a proven track record and extensive experience in the chemical industry and technical distribution, Primawood has the tools available to take Accoya® wood to market.
Director at Primawood, Loreto Burés, said, "We are extremely excited by this opportunity to distribute such a high quality timber. It is a premium product that outperforms traditional timbers, such as Western Red Cedar, as shown in independent and external tests." She continued, "This versatile wood is well suited to the Mediterranean climate making it an ideal material for outdoor use such as windows, doors and cladding."
Accoya® is one of the most advanced wood products on the market. It is manufactured using a non-toxic treatment and uses fast growing timber from sustainable sources. The end product, Accoya®, matches or exceeds the durability, stability and beauty of the very best tropical hardwoods.
Paul Clegg, the CEO of Accsys Technologies said, "We are thrilled about the partnership with Primawood. They have widespread knowledge of the market and this will be fundamental in our joint success in the Spanish, Portuguese and Moroccan territories".
Being high performance, sustainable and low maintenance, Accoya® is suitable for windows, doors, decking, cladding and glulam structural beams. Accoya® wood has superior coatings performance, primarily due to two factors: outstanding dimensional stability and resistance to UV degradation. Coatings perform better on Accoya® wood than on many other timber species and swelling is reduced by around 80%, which means that maintenance is greatly reduced, particularly in warm climates, timber structures will therefore remain secure for longer. Accoya® wood is guaranteed for 50 years in exterior use and 25 years when used in the ground or freshwater and this long life also provides an added benefit by helping to reduce carbon emissions.
