TIP Trailer Services add 6 new Mobile Service Units to Nationwide Service Fleet

In support of the company's successful FleetCare fleet maintenance programme, TIP Trailer Services has added a further six new Renault Master mobile service units (MSU's) that are now strategically located across its nationwide network of depots covering the UK and Ireland. At the same time, TIP has also taken on six new technicians to operate these new vehicles.

This now means that TIP currently has a nationwide fleet of almost 50 mobile service units, providing support not just for the growing number of new FleetCare contracts, but also for the existing TIP rental fleet and for non account PayGo customers.

According to Karl Davies, Services and Marketing Director, TIP Trailer Services, "These brand new vehicles are completely self-sufficient, requiring no external air supply. Their detailed specification and high equipment levels give us the facility to check, inspect, service and repair trailers, either on customer premises or out on the road, without the need for any additional support requirements, making TIP unique as a trailer maintenance service provider."

Supplied by sister company GE Fleet on a three-year deal, each of the six new Renault Master LWB35 panel vans is fitted out with a BOTT conversion kit that includes racking, generators, compressors, small tools and a trailer check system, which covers monitoring of all electrical functions on trailers.

Sporting the latest FleetCare livery, these self-contained MSU's represent a very high level of investment by TIP in each vehicle and supplement the current network of service centres and ATF's provided under the TIP umbrella.

"Our FleetCare product, covering third-party maintenance, has expanded year-on-year to form a major business division within TIP. As a result, we have developed a nationwide structure to support these services, of which the MSU's are a valuable asset that enhances the speed of response and quality of service that we can provide to our customers," added Karl Davies.
