TIP’s FleetCare Maintenance programme breaks 20,000 barrier

Leading trailer company TIP Trailer Services has announced that its FleetCare maintenance product has recently broken new records with over 20,000 third-party customer assets now registered on its contract maintenance service programme across Europe.

“We first started offering third-party maintenance contracts to manage the maintenance requirements of our customers fleets back in 2007 and we have now broken the 20,000 asset barrier in just 8 years, which is a remarkable achievement,” said Karl Davies, European marketing director at TIP Trailer Services.

TIP’s FleetCare programme offers full preventative, corrective maintenance and repair services, including running gear, tail lifts, reefers and regulatory inspections for an entire fleet, together with access to in-house workshop facilities for annual regulatory tests, compliance servicing and registration process. The comprehensive contract maintenance programme also covers roadside assistance, tyre management and damage management.

A large proportion of the FleetCare service contracts are completed at TIP’s own workshop facilities across Europe, which have been subject to heavy financial investment during the past 18 months, with the investment programme scheduled to continue throughout 2015 and onwards.

As Karl Davies explains, “Last year, we added six new workshops to our in-house pan-European network, opening our first workshops in Finland and Norway, as well as three in Germany and a new UK location at Knottingley, Yorkshire. In addition to this investment in new locations, we have also added numerous additional bays to workshops in existing locations throughout Europe, as well as extending shifts to increase our overall capacity,” said Karl Davies.

To complement TIP’s own workshop facilities, the company also uses a validated third-party network of over 6000 vendors across Europe, to ensure that customers receive the best local service in the fastest possible time.

As part of its plans to further increase service response levels, TIP is also looking to add a further 40 new mobile service units (MSU’s) to its European maintenance fleet during 2015.

“Under the FleetCare banner, we handle a balanced split of customer assets under management, ranging from operators with just one single trailer, right through to customer fleets of over 1000 assets. Whatever the scale of their business operations, customers automatically benefit from TIP’s proven expertise in maximising fleet uptime as well as the financial stability that the programme provides. FleetCare eliminates the pain and heartache of maintaining a fleet, thereby enabling customers to focus on their core business, rather than their trailer fleet,” concluded Karl Davies.
