Toll Group selects Kewill global trade management solution for European and Middle East rollout

Kewill (LSE: KWL), a leading provider of solutions that simplify global trade and logistics, today announced it has signed a multi-year contract with Toll Global Forwarding, part of Toll Group, the Asian region's leading provider of integrated logistics services, to implement its Global Trade Management suite, across the company's Europe and Middle East operations.

Under the terms of the contract, Kewill has already begun deploying its global freight forwarding software, Kewill Forwarding, and global electronic customs software, Kewill CustomsXchange, together with Sage ERP Accpac financial package, to deliver a fully integrated solution. The implementation commenced in the Netherlands and will be rolled out rapidly to over 500 users in total across Toll Global Forwarding's Europe and Middle East operations, including the Germany, France, Sweden, Finland , the United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom.

The solution will provide Toll Global Forwarding with one central system to book, manage and monitor the complete shipment lifecycle for the all shipments it handles to and from the Europe and Middle East region each month, including ensuring compliance with individual countries' customs requirements and EU-wide initiatives such as ICS, by submitting the required documentation and exchanging information electronically with local customs authorities in real time. This will not only improve productivity and reduce operating costs, but allow complete and accurate visibility of account activity by customer, which is crucial to support the company's ambitious plans for growth in the region.

Tom Thompson, TGF CIO, at Toll Global Forwarding commented: "We were looking for one solution that could manage the end to end freight forwarding process for Toll Global Forwarding, and also handle the complex customs requirements for our shipments throughout the Europe and Middle East region. Kewill was able to satisfy all of our requirements and demonstrate experience of successful multi-country implementations of its software for other global logistics providers, which gives us the confidence not only that the solution will be delivered to a high standard, but that it is scalable to support our future growth."

Jacquie Boast, Chief Operating Officer for EMEA at Kewill, commented "The complexity of the global supply chain is a domain in which Kewill is an expert. The deep functionality afforded by the combination of our integrated forwarding and customs solutions will provide Toll Global Forwarding with the expertise and ability to operate efficiently and effectively within the EMEA region. The Kewill solution will address the issues associated with dealing directly with multiple customs authorities, whilst providing the benefits of accelerated delivery, cost minimisation and maintaining control of goods within these markets. This enables Toll Global Forwarding to provide the highest levels of performance and reliability to its customers. Drawing upon our extensive logistics, global forwarding and customs domain experience, Toll will be supported through the entire implementation process by a highly skilled team of consultants and trainers. The Kewill solution will support Toll in its regional growth strategy, enabling the development and rapid delivery of new services to market, allowing it to take advantage of market opportunities and capacity on specific routes. We are delighted to welcome Toll as a client to Kewill."
