A service and support package from leading TOYOTA forklift distributor, M&W TOYOTA Handling, has enabled one of the UK's largest timber manufacturers to increase productivity and reduce maintenance costs.
Pontrilas Timber, a manufacturer of timber products including oak beams, oak fencing and decking boards, has selected M&W TOYOTA Handling to replace its 22-strong forklift fleet and provide a comprehensive service agreement which guarantees quick response times and minimal downtime.
Terry Evans, Hardwood Manager at Pontrilas Timber said: “M&W TOYOTA Handling worked closely with us to understand our needs and present a tailored package “that would significantly improve productivity at our operation.” Our forklifts are now serviced and maintained in much quicker times – previously, up to six trucks could be out of action in the workshop but since working with M&W TOYOTA Handling, this has been reduced to no more than one truck at any one time.”
“I have a fleet of 22 forklifts for moving stock around the yard and for loading and unloading of lorries. Fifteen of these are now TOYOTA trucks and I plan to change the rest within the next 12 months.”
Daniel Heathcote, Major Accounts Manager at M&W TOYOTA Handling comments: “Reliable forklifts are essential in ensuring this operation runs as effectively as possible. By working in partnership with Pontrilas Timber, we have tailored a service agreement to meet the company's specific requirements. Not only does this include agreed levels of uptime and response times, but a spare forklift which can be used in busy periods or in the unlikely event of equipment failure.”
