TPC Global Ltd appoints new Group Managing Director Alistair Arthur

TPC Global Ltd has announced the appointment of Alistair Arthur as Group Managing Director. Alistair, who took up the position on 2nd May, will oversee the continuing growth of the Scottish logistics solutions group, which includes TPC Freight Management Ltd and Thistle International Freight Ltd.

TPC Global provides complete global logistics solutions across the FMCG, food and beverage, chemicals, engineering and publishing sectors. Through its network of companies and offices in Scotland, Russia, Estonia, Sweden, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore, TPC Global provides all or part of the freight process including air, land, sea, bulk, dangerous goods, warehousing, project cargo, consultancy and courier services.

Alistair Arthur contributes a genuine global perspective to the organisation having racked up over 23 years of his 33-year career overseas in Saudi Arabia, Oman and the United Arab Emirates for organisations such as J F Hillebrand and Merzario as well as the Port of Fujairah (UAE). He also brings with him a wealth of expertise in FMCG logistics as well as specific knowledge of specialist and out of gauge projects. On his return to Scotland in 2007, Alistair has been a proactive member of the BIFA Scottish Regional Committee. He takes his post at TPC Global with a vision to further develop the group as a leading independent logistics provider and hopes to work with local business agencies to help UK exporters develop new markets.

"This is an exciting time for TPC. Recent years have seen TPC develop an extensive knowledge of specialist freight such as out of gauge cargo and shipments to difficult geographic areas," says Alistair. "The recent introduction of offices in Russia, Estonia (in conjunction with Novatrans) and Sweden, alongside the acquisition of Thistle International Freight has really strengthened our position as an independent logistics provider with a truly global outreach. I am really looking forward to building on this strong foundation over the coming years and, in particular, to the opportunity to develop TPC’s reach into the Middle East."

TPC was established in 2003, employs 24 people and expects a turnover approaching $20 million in 2011. TPC Global is based at a 60,000ft2 site in Paisley, Scotland, which incorporates offices and a warehouse facility. Thistle International Freight, also based in Scotland, has particular expertise in air freight and courier services.
