Transdek secures SAFEContractor accreditation for third year

Loading systems specialist, Transdek has been named as a SAFEContractor approved company for a third consecutive year, providing customers with independent accreditation of the company's commitment to health and safety.

With client members including Marks & Spencer, J. Sainsbury and Tesco, SAFEContractor is one of the UK's leading third-party health and safety accreditation schemes, providing clients with a robust and straightforward guarantee of the health and safety competence of approved contractors.

Transdek's Operations Director, Leon Butler says: "Transdek is committed to heath and safety best practice and the SAFEContractor scheme recognises this commitment, giving customers absolute confidence in our systems, processes and people. Our engineers and installers are also registered under the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) as further proof of their occupational competence."

The loading bay is statistically one of the most dangerous areas of the workplace; according to the HSE, the loading and unloading of vehicles accounts for 21% of reported injuries, including 15% of fatalities.

Butler says: "It is therefore critical that we not only operate with the highest levels of health and safety ourselves, but deliver products that also help to protect the safety of our customers' operators. This is why all of Transdek's products are designed to include comprehensive safety features over and above the requirements of British and European standards."

For example, Transdek's double deck and unique Vehicle To Ground (V2G) lifts are built with more safety features than any other comparable product, which saw them win the Design4Safety (Automation) award at last year's IMHX show.

Butler concludes: "Through these features, our lifts can significantly reduce the risks associated with the loading and unloading of double deck and other vehicles, as well as delivering significant operational efficiencies."
