Transdek UK, the lifting equipment specialist, will be demonstrating its award-winning V2G (Vehicle To Ground) lifting system and 6.5-tonne Double Deck lift with integral Load Weight Monitor on stand D325 at this year’s FoodEx at the NEC Birmingham on 25-27 March 2012.
The company, which recently announced a major investment to increase production at its Doncaster manufacturing centre to meet growing demand, is showcasing working models of both lifts that will enable visitors to experience at first hand each unit’s unique technology, ease of operation and innovative design features.
"At this year’s FoodEx we will be demonstrating how companies can load vehicles more efficiently and improve loading operations at distribution centres or retail outlets using our cost effective, quick to install and easy to relocate loading bay lifts," comments Mark Adams, Managing Director at Transdek UK.
"For flat-floor retail sites or distribution hubs our V2G solution represents a major development in design of loading systems. It is the only surface mounted lift that enables the loading and unloading of all types of goods vehicles, including the tallest double deck trailers, to ground level.
"The V2G also allows retailers to reclaim up to 500 sq m of dead space in the delivery yard, which can be used as additional store sales or storage space. Companies can make significant cost savings in this area, which is particularly beneficial in the current economic climate."
The latest development to be integrated with Transdek’s proven 6.5-tonne Double Deck lift is its innovative Load Weight Monitor (LWM). Installed in just one day, the system provides unrivalled operating benefits and loading efficiency. Based on Transdek’s award winning loadhouse design, the 6.5T Double Deck Lift with LWM offers a highly cost effective means to convert sites for safe, efficient double deck deliveries.
Transdek’s LWM measures the weight and distribution of product on both decks during the loading cycle, to ensure that the payload is properly balanced for maximum stability. Weight parameters are set according to the type of vehicle being loaded, and the LWM is interlocked with the lift controls to physically prevent overloading of either the upper or lower vehicle deck.
Mark says: "As more companies recognise the cost saving and environmental benefits of using double deck trailers, our LWM enables vehicles to be safely loaded by measuring the weight and distribution of goods on the upper and lower vehicle decks to within a 1% tolerance. Allocating the payload accurately, particularly in medium-density mixed grocery distribution operations, ensures operators can maximise vehicle usage effectively."
Both Mark Adams and Leon Butler, Operations Director, will be on stand D325 to provide more details of Transdek’s solutions.
