Transline Resource, the leading supply chain recruiter, is confident the huge IT investments it is making in 2011 will put it at the forefront of recruitment technology for years to come and, to ensure that happens, it has appointed a new National IT Manager to oversee implementation.
Gareth Brown, who hails from the company’s hometown of Halifax, will be primarily responsible for developing the company’s pioneering central KPI monitoring system. His CV is glowing. After majoring in Micro Electronics he held technical and management IT posts in the education sector with the Ridings School and Calderdale Council before running his own IT consultancy ‘Brown Computer Services’.
That experience is sure to benefit Transline Resource, which has over 35 on site offices, providing thousands of driving and industrial staff a day. To maintain its competitive edge the company has introduced the technology needed to demonstrate to clients – the UK’s leading household name retailers and distributors – that its staff are the best trained and most productive on the market.
"By producing accurate real time data we are showing clients that we are both highly effective and capable of responding quickly to staffing issues," said Transline Resource Managing Director Paul Beasley. "To ensure efficiency throughout the business a comprehensive company-wide IT system is needed and Gareth is the perfect person to provide it."
Gareth first provided consultancy for Transline Resource 9 years ago and consequently knows the company inside out. He said: "I’m here to improve the IT in existence by streamlining and enhancing its efficiency. Company staff already have a keen grasp of IT and know of the advantages that it can offer. That will help my job immensely."
"In a sector whose use of IT is developing at an incredible pace there are many opportunities to excel as a business. Client facing data is the obvious development but new unified back and front office systems will also play a major role as we move forward."
Managing Director Jon Taylor added: "We are confident the investments we are making in IT during 2011 will keep us ahead of the competition and Gareth is the right man to help us maintain that position. He has a deep knowledge of the company, is well liked by staff and is incredibly driven and meticulous – all qualities that will serve the company well in this transitionary period."
