Top transport and logistics professionals were recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List, including a number of longstanding members of The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport.
In a list notable for its recognition of professionals who work in passenger transport and the supply chain CILT Board Member Margaret Everson FCILT, a former Regional Officer with the Institute, and Senior Officer at Bus Users UK Cymru, was awarded an MBE. The award was made in recognition for her services to bus users and to transport in Wales.
Hilary Devey FCILT, founder and CEO of European palletised freight network Pall-Ex – a former Dragon’s Den judge, ‘Secret Millionaire’, and winner of the 2009 CILT Sir Robert Lawrence award for her continued services to the industry – was awarded a CBE. The honour was awarded to Hilary in recognition of her work for both charity and the logistics sector.
David Paterson CMILT, Warrant Officer Class 1 Royal Navy, logistics supply chain, was awarded an OBE.
Other notable awards in the transport profession included an MBE to Transport for Greater Manchester’s Dave Partington, following years of supporting access to transport and travel for disabled people.
