Troax creates new facilities for Leoni Wiring

Modular steel partitioning systems supplied by Troax UK Limited have been used to create a series of offices, conference rooms and production facilities at the Newcastle under Lyme plant of LEONI Wiring Systems UK Limited, part of the worldwide LEONI Group.

Troax’s Excalibur range of double skin steel partitioning was used to construct the new facilities for LEONI, which develops and supplies fully integrated electrical and electronic distribution systems to European vehicle manufacturers such as Land Rover, Porsche and BMW.

The existing production area was reconfigured completely by main contractor Jones Builders to create a new “competence centre” with offices, meeting rooms and conference and training facilities which are used by design, customer service and other administrative departments.

Excalibur partitioning is ideal for this type of project, creating a smart and attractive office environment. Its steel panels are of monobloc construction, comprising two steel skins separated by a composite insulating infill; this design complies with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and also provides excellent sound and heat insulation.

The versatile Excalibur system was supplied in a combination of full steel and steel and glazed panels and because it is modular, the layout can be changed relatively simply if LEONI’s requirements change in the future.

Troax’s Sabre single skin partitioning was also used at the site to construct a variety of maintenance areas, despatch offices, laboratories and control rooms.

Comments Kevin Elks at LEONI Wiring Systems: “Because we were adapting an existing building which was not originally designed as offices, we needed to find a partitioning system that was flexible and easy to adapt to fit the space available. Troax’s Excalibur system met our specification exactly – it has provided us with a layout which meets our needs and also offers a comfortable working environment for staff.”
