Troax UK Limited has designed and installed high specification cleanroom type enclosures at the manufacturing facility of a leading quality automotive manufacturer.. Troax used its Excalibur double skin - steel partitioning system to construct the enclosures which form a specialist finishing area where vehicle body shells are sanded down by hand to ensure an exceptionally high quality finish.
The project, which was carried out in conjunction with CPS Interiors, involved the construction of two adjacent cleanroom type enclosures using Excalibur steel partitioning which provides the required high standard of construction for this demanding manufacturing environment.
Each finishing area enclosure has vacuum gullies built into the floor, with specialist extraction systems installed to remove any dust produced during the sanding process. This ensures that a blemish-free finish of the highest quality can be achieved while also preventing dust from escaping and contaminating the rest of the factory floor.
Access for trolleys that transport vehicle shells in and out of the enclosures also had to be provided so Troax custom-designed bi-parting concertina doors to run along the entire length of the structure using its Sabre single skin steel partitioning. The doors can be folded right back to one side to allow easy access for the trolleys which are brought to ener through one side and leave through the other, creating an efficient 'one way' system.
Because its panels are flush both sides and have minimal ledges and corners, Excalibur was ideal for creating this level of cleanroom type environment. Its double skin design (which is of monobloc construction comprising two steel skins separated by an inert mineral wool insulating infill) also offers excellent sound and heat insulation properties and complies with all relevant Health and Safety legislation.
Excalibur's high quality powder coated finish is also extremely smart and durable and is particularly suited to this type of busy, industrial environment.
