Truck rental firm to create new jobs following move to larger premises in Northampton

Following the relocation of its Northampton operation to new larger premises in the Swan Valley Area, Ryder, one of the UK’s leading providers of commercial vehicle rental solutions is recruiting five new heavy goods vehicle (HGV) technicians to its expanding local team.

“The increased volume of sales and enquiries for our rental trucks, trailers, and maintenance services in recent months from businesses across the East Midlands means that we need to boost the number of day and night shift technicians we employ,” comments Bruce Howard, Operations Director. “We’d prefer to recruit technicians that already have HGV licences as we often have to collect, and deliver back, vehicles from our customers.

These new technicians will help us to substantially increase our commercial vehicle maintenance and repair capacity at our modern and well-equipped workshop at the new location in Northampton, whilst at the same time helping support our expansion plans for the East Midlands region.”

“They will be working on high quality products from leading manufacturers including DAF, Mercedes-Benz, MAN and Iveco and, with large numbers of new Euro 6 trucks and purpose-built refrigerated trailers joining the Ryder fleet during 2015, they will get the opportunity to be trained on, and work with, the latest commercial vehicle technology.”
