TÜV SÜD launches Machinery Safety Roadshow to Mark final integration of Laidler Business

Two years after its acquisition, Laidler Associates is to rebrand as TÜV SÜD Product Service. The UK’s leading machinery safety compliance organisation is now fully integrated into the TÜV SÜD business, offering machinery safety services via five UK locations and joining a network of 600 international sites.

To mark the rebrand, the TÜV SÜD team will be taking the issue of machinery safety on the road in September. The Health & Safety Executive Register of Convictions show that 62 per cent of breaches under the Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) have been committed under Regulation 11 – Dangerous Parts of Machinery. TÜV SÜD will therefore be launching a series of roadshow events across the UK. These will highlight the key safety issues for machine users, review the latest products and suggest practical solutions.

Jean-Louis Evans, Managing Director of TÜV SÜD Product Service, said: "Since our acquisition of Laidler two years ago, the synergies we anticipated between our two organisations have paid off. We have established a much stronger machinery safety business for TÜV SÜD and an enviable position in the UK market.

"For our current customers there is no material change in the machinery safety services with which they are familiar. The team will continue to deliver cost effective and practical safety services upon which our reputation is built, but supported by a wider network of product safety experts and a wealth of experience."

Paul Laidler, Business Director for Machinery Safety at TÜV SÜD Product Service, said: "Now that we have completed the integration into the TÜV SÜD business, the machinery division will benefit from its international reach. Our customers will have increased choice and the ability to reap the rewards of economies of scale for all their product safety needs."
