Two ISACA Certifications Reach Milestones

ISACA Certifies the 1,000th CGEIT and 10,000th CISM

Rolling Meadows, Ill., USA (1 December 2008)—CGEIT and CISM, two of the globally recognized professional designations from ISACA, continue to grow at a record pace. ISACA, a nonprofit association of IT governance, security and assurance professionals, recently certified the 1,000th CGEIT (Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT) and the 10,000th CISM (Certified Information Security Manager).

In addition, ISACA's CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) designation celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2008. CISA has been earned by more than 60,000 professionals worldwide since inception.

"In this turbulent economic time, it is especially important for professionals to continually increase their knowledge and ensure they receive recognition for the value they bring to their enterprises," said Howard Nicholson, CGEIT, CISA, business analyst for the City of Salisbury (Australia) and chair of ISACA's CGEIT Certification Board. "Certifications benefit professionals by providing recognition for their skill sets and dedication to the field. Organizations also have greater assurance that they are hiring, retaining or promoting the most qualified person.

"Volunteer IT leaders around the world work tirelessly to keep the venerable CISA certification completely current and to ensure that it and the newer CISM and CGEIT certifications provide increasing value to certification-holders and their enterprise," added Nicholson.

The next exam offering for CISA, CISM and CGEIT is 13 June 2009. Registration for the June exam will open in December 2008. Additional information is available at www.isaca.org/certification.
