Two new management appointments for strapping machine company Mosca Direct

Mosca Direct, the UK subsidiary of world-leading strapping machine manufacturer Mosca, has underlined its commitment to customer care with two new management appointments.

Julie Walton has been appointed as the company’s new Engineering Operations Director, while Ian Bird joins as Senior Management Accountant.
Walton takes responsibility for customer service through Mosca Direct’s engineering division, both pre and post machine installation. She has worked in the packaging industry for 25 years, piloting tele-care operations, leading telesales team and engineering departments and selling machines, PET and PP strapping and consumables to the distributor market.

Her professional qualifications include IAM (Institute of Administrative Management) modules 1-3 and CIM (Certificate in Management). Outside work, her interests include skiing, spinning, gardening and family.
Bird has worked as a management accountant and financial controller in the construction sector since 1994, three years after receiving his ACCA qualification (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).

His brief is to continue Mosca Direct’s tight accounting controls while supporting the development and effectiveness of management information systems. Bird’s personal interests include gardening, football, skiing, theatre, cinema and walking.

Mosca is the world’s largest manufacturer of narrow strapping systems and the global market leader in many sectors: for example strapping in the distribution, corrugating, print, pharmaceutical, roof tiles and meat industries, as well as in cash handling and direct mail.

Mosca Direct supplies Mosca equipment, servicing, spare parts and strapping materials in the UK from its headquarters at Cotgrave, Nottingham.

Managing Director Gaye Tate says: "Between them, Julie and Ian bring more than 40 years of experience to Mosca Direct and we are delighted to welcome them. Their contribution will be vital as we build on our existing reputation for excellent customer service and our ambition to offer the maximum possible to our customers."
