This year, a number of companies will be unveiling their innovations at the Business Design Centre, London on 4 & 5 October 2012, to help packaging professionals, brand owners and marketers to gain inspiration and solutions to move their products to the next level.

Kodak (stand H11) will be focusing on the highly interdependent relationship between packaging production and the brand owner. The company will show samples from its KODAK FLEXCEL NX Digital Flexographic System, which offers customers the ability to develop business through innovation.

In addition, brand managers looking for improved spot colour consistency on packaging and labels can now rely on a series of innovations being brought together by specialist printers OPM Group (stand B4) and reprographics group Reproflex 3, Kodak and Nilpeter.
Chris Ellison, Managing Director at OPM, explains: "Colour consistency is a critical issue for brand managers. Consumer firms invest heavily in the creation of a specific brand image and colour palette, and need to be able to deliver their colour range, consistently, across all packaging and labelling materials and formats."
Leading suppliers of mailing equipment, AMS (stand VG26) will be showcasing Speedstar 3000, a short-run desktop digital colour label printer, which gives users the freedom to print the exact amount of labels they need, in high quality, at extremely low cost.
Peter Fiorentini, Managing Director of AMS, says: "Colour label printing has become an integral part of many businesses’ in-house packaging production process. We’re looking forward to showcase our new technology in the Speedstar label printer such as, a large colour touchscreen interface and high quality Memjet® print heads."
From print solutions to packing, Smart Karton’s (stand B13) new international patent-pending "All-Paper Pack" is a revolutionary packaging solution. It eliminates void fill replacing it with a cohesive paper that secures the product in place within the package. Additional features include a self-sealing box made entirely of corrugated composite board and 100% recycled paper.

Another exhibitor at the show is Easypack (stand J7), which will be demonstrating its environmentally friendly cardboard shredder. The Easypack Shredder effortlessly converts surplus cardboard boxes into supple mats which are perfect for protection and void fill for all types of goods in transit. The flexible mat is very effective for packing heavy items and safeguards any sharp edges and corners.
Manuplastics (Stand H3) will be showcasing its growing standard jar/lid range including the new matt and gloss surface finish options across selected product styles.
Debuting for the first time will be William Say & Co (stand C8), Can Makers of London, and their stockist company, P. Wilkinson Containers Ltd. Stuart Wilkinson, Sales and Marketing at William Say & Co remarks: "We’ve attended PACKAGING INNOVATIONS London as a visitor many times and feel it’s the right platform to support our first ever trade exhibition."
William Say & Co will be displaying their latest food packaging lines, as well as a wide selection of their existing ranges from ring pull tins and tea caddies to lever tin lids and plastic jerry cans.
