Warehouse automation company KNAPP UK exhibit at Logistics Link Live

Warehouse automation specialist KNAPP UK Ltd will be exhibiting at the Logistics Link Live event at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on 16-17 June, where the company will present its various technologies to promote the concept of the error-free warehouse.

"We have a number of innovative technologies to offer customers," explains Craig Rollason, Head of Sales & Marketing, "such as paperless picking systems – including pick-by-light, pick-by-voice, RF and now KiSoft VISION picking – as well as order checking solutions and lot tracking technology. We’ll also be explaining how the issue of ergonomics – including the integration of user-friendly materials such as wood and cushioned fascias – is a key factor in moving towards the error-free warehouse."

KNAPP will also be showcasing its ‘universal shuttle’ concept, based on minimising the number of different technologies used around the warehouse. This has a whole range of benefits including a manageable number of components, high reliability and redundancy, a shorter start-up phase, lower maintenance costs and total system scalability. The bedrock of KNAPP’s universal shuttle concept is the OSR Shuttle™ system, which combines shuttle-based storage with pick-to-light stations. "The OSR Shuttle™ has been exceptionally well received by the market," says Craig Rollason, "and we’ve sold over 90 systems now. It’s perfect for high pick rate, small orders, with the system achieving up to six times the rate of totes in/out than an ASRS, while using less than 10% of the energy consumption. The system also has about 20% less footprint for the same number of locations, compared to an ASRS."
