Following a successful two years of Supply Chain Awards, Wates is delighted to announce a return of the event for a third year, in order to continue to support and recognise supply chain partners. The awards have emerged as a widely celebrated accolade for Wates service providers, as they continue to strive to achieve over and above best practise methods.
The Wates Supply Chain Awards aim to recognise excellence throughout the supply chain, commending those businesses that are making a positive contribution to successfully deliver projects safely, on time and within budget. There are nine awards to be presented on the evening, and within each category, an overall winner will be rewarded for their contribution over the last 12 months.
The categories are as follows:
Contribution to Health and Safety: This award celebrates outstanding health and safety performance by our supply chain members in leadership and on site.
Contribution to Environment/Sustainability: Recognises those companies who have supported Wates to deliver environmental performance and also worked to improve their own organisations knowledge on sustainability.
Innovation: This award recognises those companies who have demonstrated a strong innovative approach and have supported Wates across areas of new technology.
Partner of the Year: Recognises a company that has made an outstanding contribution to the Wates business. There will be three winning awards within this category, one for each of Wates business units Construction, Living Space and Interiors and Retail.
Supplier of the Year: This award recognises a business within the supply chain (distributor or manufacturer) that has shown a proactive approach to technical and innovative solutions.
Social Enterprise of the Year: This recognises a social enterprise who has or is working with Wates to deliver social impact in their local community.
Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Contribution by an Individual or Team: Recognising an individual or team who shares Wates values and has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to partnering; innovation; health and safety, environment and our commitment to communities and charitable causes.

Given the current challenges within the supply chain market it’s evermore important that we strive to create and nurture long term successful partnerships. Our awards aim to recognise those key partners, and inspire others to achieve the same high standards that we set for ourselves.”
The third Annual Supply Chain Awards will now be held at the St. Johns Hotel in Solihull on Wednesday 17th September and will feature up-and-coming comedian Jamie Sutherland for the evening’s entertainment.
