WaverleyTBS outsources electronic partner connectivity to Kewill

Kewill (LSE: KWL), a leading provider of solutions that simplify global trade and logistics, today announced it has signed a multi-year contract with WaverleyTBS, the independent drinks supplier, to fully manage and support electronic communications with its network of trading partners following its recent acquisition by Mansfield Partners from Heineken UK.

Kewill, which already manages Heineken UK’s electronic data interchange (EDI) requirements on a fully outsourced basis, will deliver a hosted and managed service to enable the electronic transaction of commercial documents such as orders, invoices and advance shipping notes, between WaverleyTBS and its UK customers and trading partners.

The Kewill MessageBroker solution will provide WaverleyTBS with partner connectivity and data transformation functionality and will be fully integrated with the company’s SAP enterprise system, facilitating efficient and cost-effective straight-through processing of data.

The solution will allow complete flexibility for future expansion of WaverleyTBS’ EDI trading community, including additional partners and new message formats. Under the terms of the agreement, Kewill will manage the migration of trading partners from their existing system and the future on-boarding of new partners as well as providing full operational management and support of the software.

John Calverley, Program Manager at WaverleyTBS comments "We have been impressed with the simplicity and flexibility of the Kewill solution already in use by Heineken UK, along with the quality of the service delivered, and are confident that Kewill will provide us with an excellent trading platform that will support WaverleyTBS’ business ambitions and assist us in consolidating our position as the UK’s leading specialist drinks wholesaler."

Jacquie Boast, Chief Operating Officer EMEA at Kewill added "Kewill’s wealth of industry experience, in particular the successful management of Heineken UK’s ecommerce requirements, made us the natural partner for WaverleyTBS. This major contract for the provision of fully managed EDI services for a key supplier to the drinks sector, demonstrates the increasing strength of our position in the UK business integration market and the confidence placed in us by our customers."
