As vehicle liveries go it must be one of the most eye-catching on the road. Bristol-based John T Evans, a member of the Palletways European palletised freight distribution network, has unveiled a new vehicle which is now being used on the recently won contract with The Yankee Candle Company to deliver their products across Europe.
The new vehicle in the John T Evans fleet now features a number of The Yankee Candle Company’s wide range of fragranced candles. The new addition will join Palletways’ wider fleet with the iconic Yankee Candle branding with vehicles in Birmingham and London. In May, Palletways announced a three year contract with the world's largest manufacturer of premium scented candles as part of Yankee Candle’s plans to increase its activity in Europe following the launch of its Consumer Direct website in October 2012 and the development of a 170,000 sq ft headquarters in Avonmouth.
Martin Chalke, a Director at John T Evans Haulage Limited, said: “From our depot in Bristol, we are ideally situated to collect from Yankee Candle’s Avonmouth headquarters for ongoing delivery of products to the UK and mainland Europe via the Palletways distribution network.”
Steve Waterhouse, Business Development Director at Palletways, said: “John T Evans was instrumental in helping the network to develop our relationship with The Yankee Candle Company and we are delighted to see the new branded vehicle on the road. We are experiencing significant demand for our services from businesses which export goods as they see the benefits of our single distribution solution to meet their pan-European delivery requirements.”
John T Evans is one of over 100 UK members in the Palletways network – Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight operation. The company’s distribution network is made up of independent transport companies which share each other’s resources to deliver consignments of palletised freight to the marketplace faster and more cost effectively than ever before.
