Avery Weigh-Tronix will be emphasising its capability to provide a complete weighing solution for worldwide postal organisations, from the front counter to the logistics and warehousing operations. On show will be its new generation FX141 counter service postal scale, platform and bench scales and a forklift truck scale.
Says Kevin Macleod, postal services account manager for Avery Weigh-Tronix: “We supply more national and international postal organisations than anyone. Accurate and convenient weighing is vital for every stage in a postal or courier organisation, whether it is charging for a letter or parcel across a counter, checkweighing consignments or loading a vehicle.”
On the stand will be the new FX141 counter scale, which has a small footprint and can be shared by two counter positions to help increase valuable counter space. It offers high accuracy and capacity digital weighing providing three scales in one for letters, packets and parcels.
This trade approved machine can link up to two Horizon terminals used by the UK post office or has two USB ports for alternative connections.
Also demonstrated is the company's forklift truck scale. The system transforms forklift trucks into mobile scales that deliver trade approved weight verification of each pallet as it is picked up – so an organisation can lift, weigh, move and invoice loads within its existing process.
It can guide the driver through the loading process to maximise capacity for outward bound trailers. Correct loading avoids health and safety hazards, fines and the expense of incident cleanups. For outward bound vehicles, printed proof of due diligence proves that the vehicle is fit to travel in the event of a roadside spot check.
Also on the stand is a NCI 7620 30Kg postal scale. A cross section through a typical platform scale shows the company's WeighBar technology. This provides inherent strength and overload protection while also giving accuracy and high reliability. This platform scale is linked to one of the company's E1210 indicators.
