West Lothian logistics firm, Pollock (Scotrans), shifts into higher gear with 10 year Palletways deal

West Lothian logistics firm, Pollock (Scotrans) has shifted its business into a higher gear after signing a 10-year deal with Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing pallet delivery network. The company was previously a member of Pall-ex.

The firm, which has successfully operated its distribution and warehousing service across the UK for more than 70 years, will now be one of 100 plus members within the Palletways pallet delivery network; a move that will see the company strengthen its offering to customers in the EH postcode areas.

As a member of the Palletways network, Pollock will collect from local customers within the Edinburgh post code area for onwards delivery across the UK, Ireland, the Benelux countries, Denmark, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Italy. It is anticipated that the firm will collect and deliver some 100,000 small consignments of palletised freight per year through its work within the Palletways network.

Commenting on the deal, Fraser Pollock, Managing Director at Pollock (Scotrans), said: "As a business, operating within the competitive distribution sector, we are always looking for opportunities to support our growth strategy by strengthening our service proposition to our customers.

"Our new membership with Palletways will open up new business opportunities for our company and will enable us to continue to offer our customers cost-effective, overnight and express palletised freight services to anywhere in the UK and to mainland Europe."

Palletways, which was founded in the UK in 1994 to provide an express delivery solution for small consignments of palletised freight, is today the leading dedicated pallet network in Europe, offering more depots and handling more volume than other dedicated pallet networks.
